NY. I won't narrow it down any further, too nervous being newly inactive. I used to feel so happy when people would accept the message from the witnesses, now I'm happy to see people on this board learning the real truth and background of the wt. I totally believe the Bible and appreciate learning about it thru them, but now realize the wt is not God's channel, but I can get real torn about it all. There are so many good people still in and I just wish there was an easy way to let them see what I've learned, but I know I'll get df'd and shunned, so I'm just fading and keep wondering if any friends of mine are here.

Jehovah has supplied an abundance of wholesome spiritual food through books, magazines, videos, and audio recordings. Ecclesiastes 12:12 - (regarding scripture) My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Can the internet apostates bring down the WTBS?
by Lozhasleft ini saw a thread on another forum suggesting this...based on all the info so readily available to so many nowadays...its certainly true that the society is warning all the witnesses about it.... what do you think?
is it possible that it could seriously affect their status?

This topic brought this scripture to mind.. Acts 5:38
New International Version(©1984)
Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.New Living Translation(©2007)
"So my advice is, leave these men alone. Let them go. If they are planning and doing these things merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown.English Standard Version(©2001)
So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or this undertaking is of man, it will fail; -

What's The Worst Thing You Know Of That A JW Did?
by minimus inwitnesses are supposed to be "exemplary" and not like the "world".
yet some jws are pretty notorious.. did you know of any jws that did some real bad things?.
i knew a pious witness who got caught twice trying to solicit prostitutes.

I like the point Heartbreaker made, molesters are forgiven, but you can't ask any questions, if you do, there is the threat of being labeled an apostate, the unforgiven sin.

Stayed up all night, see it is a cult now.
by gutted ini really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.
i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.
i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

I've also recently learned the truth about the "truth" thanks to the internet, this website and many other sites. All the "apostate material" are really just facts exposing them. This website also has some good information. http://www.jwfiles.com/index.htm
My advice is to keep your faith in God and the Bible and SEPARATE it from the Watchtower Society. I think a lot of us have a hard time separating the two because we learned about the Bible through them.
Some scriptures that have helped me are Deuteronomy 18:20-22, which says: 20
"‘ However, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.21And in case you should say in your heart: " How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken? " 22when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak. With presumptuousness the prophet spoke it. You must not get frightened at him .
Another one is Ecclesiastes 12:12 which tells us that anything beyond the scriptures in not necessary. They expect you to study book after book. "My son,
beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh."
I'm very grateful for all the posts here too having just learned all this myself in the last few months. I just feel sad for all the nice sincere people on the inside still being misled.

Most-Ignored Scriptures by JWs
by Mad Sweeney inthe watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

Concerning kids getting baptized, I think 1Peter 2:21 is ignored. If we are to follow Christ closely, he was baptized at 30, certainly being a mature adult should be an important factor in this decision.
21 In fact, to this [course] YOU were called, because even Christ suffered for YOU , leaving YOU a model for YOU to follow his steps closely.

Ecclesiastes 12:12 is a scripture which I think has been ignored. It basically tells us that the scriptures are all we need, anything beyond it is not necessary. Jehovahs Witnesses expect you to study so many books and it can wear you out.
New International Version(©1984)
Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.New Living Translation(©2007)
But, my child, let me give you some further advice: Be careful, for writing books is endless, and much study wears you out.English Standard Version(©2001)
My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.New American Standard Bible(©1995)
But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body.GOD'S WORD® Translation(©1995)
Be warned, my children, against anything more than these. People never stop writing books. Too much studying will wear out your body. -

Regarding Judicial Committees, this scripture seems to be overlooked...
1 Corinthians 4:3-5... 3 Now to me it is a very trivial matter that I should be examined by YOU or by a human tribunal. Even I do not examine myself. 4 For I am not conscious of anything against myself. Yet by this I am not proved righteous, but he that examines me is Jehovah. 5 Hence do not judge anything before the due time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring the secret things of darkness to light and make the counsels of the hearts manifest, and then each one will have his praise come to him from God.
(Hi Stephen, thanks for the welcome :)

Matthew 6:1-4... 1 "Take good care not to practice YOUR righteousness in front of men in order to be observed by them; otherwise YOU will have no reward with YOUR Father who is in the heavens. 2 Hence when you go making gifts of mercy, do not blow a trumpet ahead of you, just as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to YOU, They are having their reward in full. 3 But you, when making gifts of mercy, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, 4 that your gifts of mercy may be in secret; then your Father who is looking on in secret will repay you.
When announcements are made at the Kingdom Hall about certain people pioneering or about how many magazines they placed, etc. Then the congregation applauds, it seems to go contrary to this scripture.
